What AppCut is for
AppCut makes video ads for mobile apps and games. You give it your app's store listing and, if you like, your own screen recordings and logo, and it produces short UGC-style ads about that app for your own advertising. That is the only thing it does. There is no open-ended “generate anything” mode.
You may only create ads for apps you own, or that you're authorised to advertise on the owner's behalf, for example as their agency.
Presenters are synthetic
Every person who appears in an AppCut ad is generated. You can't upload a face, choose a real person, or ask for someone's likeness, and an uploaded image that contains a real person's face is refused as a reference, so it can't shape who appears. Ads must not present a generated presenter as a real, named individual, a real customer, or a celebrity.
Not allowed
- Impersonating or depicting a real, identifiable person, including deepfakes and voice imitation.
- Sexual or sexually suggestive content, and anything involving minors in a sexual or harmful context.
- Violence, hate, harassment, or content that demeans people for who they are.
- Political or electoral content, or anything designed to mislead people about public events.
- Ads for gambling with real money, drugs, weapons, or anything illegal where it will run.
- False or misleading claims about your app, such as invented reviews, fake earnings, or health claims you can't support.
- Using someone else's app, brand or footage without their permission.
- Trying to get around these rules, for example by wording creative direction to produce something listed above.
How it's enforced
Every clip is reviewed automatically before you see it: frames from across the video are checked for sexual or suggestive content and anything else unsuitable for a mainstream app ad, and a clip that fails is never delivered. Its credits are returned. Clips that don't match the format that was ordered are rejected the same way.
We may review accounts and content at any time. If an account breaks these rules we may block generation, remove content, or close the account. Serious cases, such as anything involving minors, are reported to the relevant authorities.
Your responsibility
You're responsible for the ads you make and where you run them, including following the policies of the ad platforms you use and any rules on disclosing AI-generated content in your market. Where a clip carries content credentials identifying it as AI-generated, don't remove them to hide that.
Reporting
If you see an AppCut ad that breaks these rules, or that uses your likeness or your app without permission, email hello@appcut.ai and we'll look into it within two working days.
These rules sit alongside the product's Terms of Service and our Privacy notice.
